Elise Miller - Urban Planner

Elise holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Melbourne. She has over two years of experience working in Town Planning consultancy, where she supports client’s navigation of the Victorian statutory planning system. Elise has a particular interest in data-driven solutions and her experience in map-based community engagement has provided Elise with the skills to conduct analysis for project findings and visually communicating complex planning ideas.

 

In 2022 she completed her Minor Thesis, which challenged the gender gap in cycling participation and further questioned how we can employ gender mainstreaming within the development of transport policy. Elise was further recognised for her work and was awarded the for presentation of her thesis.

 

Elise is community-minded and has experience volunteering for the Better Buses Network and the Stonnington Bicycle Users Group. She is currently a member of the progressive planner’s network, a space where academics, students, and professionals can gather and discuss emerging innovations and tensions within urban studies and the wider town planning discipline.
