Fishermans Bend Ministerial Advisory Committee
Development Approvals and Facilitation
The Minister for Planning appointed Echelon Director Mark Woodland to the Fishermans Bend Ministerial Advisory Committee in February 2017. The Committee’s role was to provide advice to the Minister on the overall planning framework for the precinct. This included providing advice in respect to the statutory planning controls that might apply to the precinct in future.
Amendment GC50 was gazetted on 14 Novemebr 2016 and makes the following changes to the Port Phillip and Melbourne Planning Schemes:
A new local policy titled “Employment and Dwelling Diversity within the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Area” has been introduced.
Building heights are deleted from respective zones – these are now included within a schedule to a Design and Development Overlay and are mandatory.
Transitional provisions have been deleted from respective zones. Current ‘live’ permit applications will therefore need to adhere to the controls and policies contained within Amendment GC50.
