Mixed use development Dryburgh Street,
Echelon Planning obtained a planning permit for a mixed use development in West Melbourne.
The site is some 200 metres from the North Melbourne Train Station and within a mixed use precinct containing a range of residential, cafes and commercial uses. Its location proximate to the CBD and the North Melbourne Train Station make it an optimal site for high density residential uses. The permit is for a 7 storey building accommodating 60 apartments, a ground floor café and basement car parking.
The design approach takes inspiration from the nearby train station incorporating materials and forms common in grand train stations over the world. The result is a striking and functional building which will contribute to the emerging character of the North Melbourne Station Precinct.
