Boroondara Neighbourhood Character Policy

Submission to Planning Panel for Amendment C229

Echelon made submissions regarding the proposed changes to the Neighborhood Character policy in the planning scheme that  were too restrictive and did not recognize local characteristics such as main roads frontages and access to public transport. 

 

Echelon submitted on behalf of a landowner that these sites ought to be recognized within the planning framework and ensure that housing diversity can continue to be delivered in the General Residential Zone.  

 

The submission covered not only the specific changes proposed to the local planning polices but also how this change could affect housing diversity across the municipality having regard to Borrondara’s Housing Strategy.
